From Roads to Runways - What's Going On at DPW
McClellan-Palomar Airport will conduct an emergency response exercise October 1. This emergency exercise is required by the FAA every three years. The public is advised emergency equipment and personnel will respond in the morning hours of Friday, October 1 to a simulated airport emergency. This is ONLY A DRILL. The South Santa Fe Avenue Road Improvement Project is underway. The project will provide additional lane miles, improve traffic flow, provide dedicated turn lanes, upgrade bike lanes, install new sidewalks, upgrade storm drain and other water service facilities, underground existing overhead utility lines, relocate and improve the railroad crossing, and enhance public safety.
Jamacha Blvd. Road Widening project is contracted and underway. The temporary sound wall is already up to protect endangered species - a requirement of U.S. Fish & Wildlife.
