Diego County's Department of Public Works maintains nearly 2,000 miles of roads in unincorporated areas. We continually inspect, repair and maintain paved and unpaved roads to provide the best possible driving surfaces for our customers. Certain maintenance and repair activities may necessitate the temporary closure of a County roadway.
In addition, occasional community events such as parades or street fairs may require closing a road temporarily.
Road closures for pre-planned construction, repair or other maintenance, or for special events are listed on this page. Road closures (and re-openings) related to storms, accidents, or other unplanned events are posted and continuously updated on the DPW Emergency Page. These road closure notices are also posted on Twitter.com/sdcountydpw.

Here is a listing of short-term Special Event permits that require road closures, suspension of "No Parking," etc.
The Traffic Control Permit Application and Special Event Permit Application are now available on line. Just click on the permit you want and submit it to us directly.
State highways (I-8, I-805, I-15, & SRs 52, 76, 78, 94, etc.) are maintained by Caltrans.

TEMPORARY CLOSURES:
Rancho Santa Fe: Avenida de Acacias will be CLOSED from La Granada to Le Flecha; Paseo Delicias will be CLOSED from La Gracia to La Granada; and the intersection of El Tordo and Avenida de Acacias will be CLOSED, Saturday, March 20, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for the Rancho Santa Fe Little League Parade. Parade starts at 9:00 a.m.
