HIV Counseling and Testing Services
The County HIV Counseling and Testing Sites are walk-in facilities. Appointments are not necessary. HIV testing is given anonymously, meaning medical staff will not know the client's name. Clients are given an identification number. Confidential HIV testing is also available.
There is no cost for testing at HIV Testing Sites. Rapid HIV testing is available at some locations.
If you would like to have an oral, rapid HIV test, please do not chew gum, eat, or drink fluids (including water) a minimum of 15 minutes prior to the test. Please do not use any oral hygiene products (e.g., toothpaste, mouthwash, denture adhesive) for a minimum of 20 minutes prior to the test. If you have performed any of these activities immediately prior to arrival to the clinic, you may choose to wait 15 - 20 minutes before taking the oral HIV test. As an alternative, you may have a rapid HIV test performed using finger stick blood, which can be conducted regardless of food, drink, or oral hygiene products.
