Tiger Team
TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) Reauthorization presented new challenges in meeting Work Participation Rates (WPR) for State welfare departments. HHSA convened a "Tiger Team" (community members and advocates, educational and private sector partners, contracted service providers, and Agency executives and staff) that met from August to October 2006 and developed a "Road Map to Action".
The Road Map consists of strategies to achieve the following new WPR targets:
- 50% of All Families to participate in work activities 30 hours/week;
- 90% of Two Parent Families to participate in work activities 35 hours/week.
