Vision
To enhance access and preserve healthy and thriving communities in rural San Diego County.
Mission
To establish and enhance partner relationships and resources to advocate and promote health and well-being in rural San Diego County communities.
Background
In November of 2001, the County of San Diego, Health and Human Services Agency, North Regions, rural service providers and community partners established the San Diego County Rural Health Network (SDCRHN). Through the collaborative efforts initiated by the SDCRHN, many agencies have secured additional resources and established new partnerships to improve service delivery for rural San Diego County communities. The SDCRHN provides networking, information and resource sharing opportunities to support comprehensive health and social services for rural residents.

Are We Making the Grade? 2009 San Diego County Report Card on Children & Families
On May 10th, 2010, HealthLink North County and the San Diego Rural Health Network co-hosted a special joint meeting for a presentation from Paula Ingrum of The Children's Initiative. Approximately 80 professionals, community members and service providers joined HHSA North Regions Deputy Director Donna Hand and Chairwoman Pam Slater-Price's Policy Advisor, Jill Monroe, at the North County Regional Education Center in San Marcos for a presentation centered around The Children's Initiative's biennial Report Card on the overall health and well-being of San Diego County's children, youth, and families, with a focus on North County data. In the evaluation, participants found the presentation overall valuable with useful data. During challenging economic times, tools, such as the Report Card, can help to focus efforts to stay current, and leverage programs to better serve North County residents.
