The HR Services Division provides quality candidates for employment through recruitment and evaluation/testing of applicant's knowledge, skills, and abilities. In addition, HR Services Division maintains the County's classification and compensation plan to reflect changing organizational needs. The areas of concentration within HR Services are:
Recruitment and Selection activities are committed to supporting the community by providing San Diego County residents with a high-quality, diverse workforce by recruiting and selecting the best qualified applicants by:
 | Posting employment opportunities, establishing application forms and |
| | process, and providing information on all open recruitments including job summaries, minimum requirements and salary. |

| Evaluating candidates based on job standards and advertised assessment |
| | processes. |
Classification/Compensation activities to manage the County of San Diego 's classification and compensation system in a way that promotes fairness and equality for all County employees.
This is accomplished by:
| Ensuring that all positions are classified in accordance with the duties and |
| | responsibilities assigned; |

| Ensuring that classes are arranged in relation to other classes in order to |
| | achieve and maintain a classification plan that promotes the efficient and orderly administration of work; |
| | |
| Creating, reclassifying and updating classifications; |
| | |
| Determining the proper compensation. |
