Fish Report for the week of 1-21-12 to 01-27-12
Lake Morena Regional Park – Campo, CA

Lake Conditions - Surface temperature is 47.7 and 47.3 at 20 ft. Water visibility is 3’ to 5’.

ALL LIVE BAIT FISH AND CRAYFISH ARE PROHIBITED!

  • Trout - Anglers are still finding rainbow trout in 20 feet or less of water using gold Kastmaster, night crawlers, power bait, shad raps, spinner and rapalas near the dam and Pumphouse cove.  Lewis Bertusi from El Cajon made his limit both days.  Dennis Coffer and Jim Pechota from Dulzura boated out to Paradise Cove to fill their limits on green powerbait.  Other areas are opening up such as the Pumphouse Cove and a few were reported in Horseshoe Cove.  The best bet is to rent one of our boats and work the lake.
  • Carp - Still splashing!  They seem to like corn and corn meal balls.
  • Bass - No action on Bass lately.
  • Blue Gill - No action on the Blue Gill lately.
  • Crappie - No sign of Crappie this time of year.
  • Catfish - If you have the Mackerel then the Cats are biting near the dam.

Boat Launch conditions: Boat launching is open for private boats. The speed limit is 10mph. Before launch, all boats are subject to quagga inspection. If you do not pass inspection you will not be able to launch so please ensure that all boats are clean and dry before entering the park.
