San Diego County Historical Treasures
San Diego County has a rich cultural and historic heritage. One of the missions of the Department of Parks and Recreation is to preserve those historical resources.

We do more than preserve these resources, however. We make history come alive. You'll see displays that show how Native Americans lived, worked, and played. You can experience life in a adobe hacienda, where handsome dons and beautiful doñas held lavish parties. Visit a reconstructed sod stage station, look out over the desert, and imagine a stage full of 19th-century travelers approaching from the distance.

San Diego County Historical Treasures will introduce you to the historic sites and buildings in County parks. Take a look at it and discover why the Department of Parks and Recreation has won many awards for preserving and restoring San Diego's historical treasures for your enjoyment and that of future generations. This full-color brochure is available on this page in PDF format.
